Sam’s Club is the biggest competitor to Costco with almost 600 warehouse locations to Costco’s 900+. It is not a surprise that Sam’s Club has a food court with prices and a menu that is almost a direct mirror of Costco’s food court.
Sam’s Club members who want to grab a cheap hot dog combo, frozen yogurt, or even a whole pizza only have to make their way to the Sam’s Club food court, conveniently located at the front of the store near the checkouts.

When is the Sam’s Club Food Court Open?
The Sam’s Club food court is open during regular business hours from 10:00 AM until closing.
Sam’s Club warehouses are open:
Monday through Sunday from 9 AM to 8 PM (Club Members)
Plus members can enter the warehouse an hour earlier at 8 AM to shop, but will have to wait together with the regular Club members until the food court opens at 10:00 AM.
Sam’s Club is closed on New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the warehouse closes early at 6 PM.
In October 2025, Sam’s Club extended holiday shopping hours for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day from 6 PM to 8 PM.

How to Order at the Sam’s Club Food Court
There are two ways to order from the Sam’s Club Cafe. You can wait in line at the register or order on the Sam’s Club app.
The line at the food court can get pretty long during peak times or on the weekends. In more than one instance, I’ve made it to the front of the line only to be told the whole pizza was sold out or the frozen yogurt machine was offline.
An alternative is to order through the Sam’s Club app. You will need to open the app while at the warehouse and tap on the Scan and Go option at the bottom of the screen. Then select Cafe. You will then be able to see all the available items on the menu. Add your items to your cart, check out, and pay with your card on file. Then wait for your number to be called or head to the Scan and Go pickup area after you finish your shopping and show the employee your order number.
Do You Need a Sam’s Club Membership to Use the Cafe
Costco now scans everyone’s membership as one enters the warehouse. Is it the same thing at Sam’s Club? Can you order from the food court without a membership? Your mileage may vary.
Some locations ask to see your card on the app when you walk through the doors. Others are more lenient and do not check.
Some Sam’s Clubs are removing the register at the Cafe and switching to Scan and Go only.
The best thing about Sam’s Club compared to Costco is the membership rate. Costco’s basic membership is $65 a year for the Gold Star membership. The basic Sam’s Club membership is $50 a year, and there are always Sam’s Club membership deals available for new members.
Depending on the time of the year, you can sign up for a membership for as low as $15. You only need to be a non-member for 6 months to qualify.

The Sam’s Club food court is a convenient place to grab an affordable bite to eat before or after shopping.
For popular menu items, be sure to stop by the food court early. There is always the possibility that items may sell out before the end of the day. The food court keeps a certain amount of food on hand. If you ordered a whole pizza and waited at the food court, you would notice that the cafe employees would bring out a pre-made pizza from the back and toss it in the oven.
Sam’s Club is a direct competitor to Costco, and its food courts are no different. You get some of the lowest prices around for enough food to feed the entire family without breaking the bank.
