Costco’s food court is a popular membership perk and destination for Costco members. Not only can you grab something freshly made, the affordable Costco food court prices can even help you save money while shopping.

A common tip to save money at the grocery store is to never shop while hungry. That is often easier said than done when you do your shopping after work, you need to bring your kids along, or you get hungry while wandering around the giant warehouse while being enticed by the free samples being doled out on each aisle.

Luckily, every Costco warehouse has a food court where members can grab a jumbo slice of pizza, soft-serve ice cream, or a hot dog and drink combo whose price hasn’t increased since it was first introduced in the 1980s.

Here is everything that you need to know before you head out to Costco, including the Costco food court’s prices.

When is the Costco Food Court Open?

The Costco food court is open during regular warehouse hours. This is not a surprise due to many food courts being located inside the warehouse.

You can find your local Costco warehouse hours by entering your city and state or zip code.

Costco warehouses are typically open:

Monday – Friday from 10 AM to 8:30 PM
Saturday 9:30 AM to 7 PM
Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM

Warehouses in the US are closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

How to Order at Costco’s Food Court

The food court at Costco can be a zoo during peak times. Luckily, most Costco locations have transitioned to ordering via a self-serve kiosk.

You can order by selecting your items on the touch screen and pay for the order by credit card. A receipt will print out with your order number. Head over to the pickup window and wait for your number to be called. It’s that easy.

When ordering a whole pizza, you can call ahead by using the warehouse locator and calling the number for the food court. Keep in mind, there are only two choices in toppings: cheese or pepperoni. The 18-inch pie has 12 slices. Depending on how busy it is, the pizza can take 15 to 30 minutes to bake.

Do You Need To Be a Member to Visit the Costco Food Court?

For years, non-members have been able to grab something from Costco’s food court without a membership. At some locations, such as those in warmer climates like California and Arizona, the food court is available outside via a walk-up window. This allowed non-members to stop by for an affordable meal for lunch or pick up a whole pizza for dinner without an active membership.

Costco has since started cracking down on non-members accessing member-only services, including at its food courts. This includes scanning membership cards on warehouse entry and verifying membership status at the food courts.

A Reddit post of a photo from an Orlando-area Costco food court read “Effective April 8, 2024, an active Costco membership card will be required to purchase items from our food court”.

Closing $ense

Thanks to its popularity with members, the food court makes up about $1 billion in sales for Costco.

There are not many places where you can grab a hot dog and drink for $1.50 or a giant slice of pizza that almost covers the plate for $1.99. The low Costco food court prices make it easy to grab a quick bite for lunch for yourself or dinner for the entire family without breaking the bank.
